Lawns
Sir Walter (Soft Leaf Buffalo)
Sir Walter is uniquely Australian, bred and developed in Australia to suit Australian conditions. Sir Walter is a dark emerald green lawn with a medium to soft leaf texture. Extremely shade tolerant and low maintenance. We use & highly recommend Sir Walter for most of Perths gardens. For more information see detailed fact sheet on list.
VelveteneTM (Paspalum)
An exciting new variety of seashore paspalum developed by Turf Farms (WA). With its soft-leaf and tightly knitted texture, this lawn creates a soft formal looking surface, retaining year-round colour. Also providing excellent performance in saline conditions. Requires 4 -5 hours sun. VelveteneTM is a luxurious fine leaf lawn with a glistening bright green shiny lustre. Velvet soft to touch and a pleasure to lay on. Green in Winter and Stunning in Summer.
Wintergreen (Couch)
Wintergreen has been the most popular choice of fine leaf lawn for the past 15 years for domestic and commercial lawns in Western Australia. The grass is a vibrant lush green, preferring full sun thinning out with less than three hours direct sunlight. Wintergreen has low inputs and water use, suits an easy care relaxed garden, or responds well to the keen gardener. It has a tough, hard wearing surface under constant use and foot traffic and is best mown with a cylinder mower into a tight, fine surface.
Plateau (Couch)
Aptly named because it grows laterally along the ground to remain 'flat' like a plateau and requires less than a quarter of the mowing frequency to other fine leaf lawn type grasses. Selected in Australian, Plateau is deep green couch with a soft formal appearance. It is a very robust lawn with a strong root structure and a fine, dense leaf texture, hard wearing but soft to touch. A very low maintenance lawn because of its strong lateral growth. Instead of the main growth energy tending upwards, it actually prefers to grow sideways creating a beautiful lawn that requires less mowing. |
